This window provides producers, exporters and importers with an opportunity to access draft notifications concerning the technical standards of products that are not based on the internationally approved standards. These notifications have been delivered to the WTO by member states in order to provide other members with the opportunity to view and comment on them. For our part, we aim, through this window to enable the business community in the UAE and abroad to access these important notifications, which determine the ability of products to reach their targeted markets considering the fact that every country imposes its own set of technical standards for a different range of reasons related to matters such as safety, health, environment, protection and ensuring an adequate level of quality. Therefore, adherence to technical standards is vital to the producer’s ability to export and compete in local and foreign markets.
